Shichi-go-san is a celebration event for three and five years boys
& three and seven year old girls.
Shichi-go-san is held on every November 15th or weekend days.

Many people also pray for children's future, health and well-being
but most important thing in the event is giving thanks to local nature gods.
"Thank you for my child that you gave. They are happy and sound for now"
"I am sure to bring up my child with love and care"
Because nature gods are an mediator (life-distribution center) between an another world and pregnant women.
Fertilized egg(material thing), given life battery from nature and personal human spirit = A fetus
Material egg never becomes a fetus without sacred distribution from nature.
So, breeding on the moon is impossible.
In old times, many babies and children couldn't survive because of disease,
poverty, malnutrition or severe climate.
Parents always wish a long life of their children.

Most children wear rented Kimono.

Nearest Shinto shrine from each home is called "Ujigami" shrine.
Every home/human has Ujigami shrine.
Ujigami, nature spirits/guardians/gods, are protecting the area and distribute baby's life battery to mother.
Life battery distributors are especially called "Ubusuna" gods.
Ubusuna shrine means an original home of each person.
For example, your life origin, Ubusuna gods, are still in your hometown.
Where your mom was living while she got pregnant.
But you are under protection by nature gods of current place.(Ujigami)
Ujigami is more important to give thanks because Ubusuna is already in your chest.
All human were allowed to born by local nature gods.
There are countless Ujigami and Ubusuna everywhere if there is nature or land.
There are so many adjustment and meeting before a human spirit comes to mom.
The decision within own budget.
At Shinto shrine, many people hope own good health, business success, or passing an exam.
Those are very rude and bad manner in Shinto.
Because nature gods are already providing everything.
Don't be a beggar in front of Gods.
Also, nature gods can not help personal things in the first place.
Your ancestors do that without return.
Personal lucks depend on own efforts and ancestor's situation in after life world.
They are always watching and helping us practically more than you think.
So, your spiritual guardians are your dead ancestors not an angel or something.
Japanese do daily home ritual for local nature gods and own ancestors.
Kamidana is for local nature gods.
Butsudan is for ancestors.
Children enjoy candies called Chitose-ame (Red and white stick candies).
It tastes a rich milk flavor.
Chitose means a long life of thousand years.
The combination of red and white is a symbol for happy occasions in Japan.
Black and White is also meaningful in Shinto.
Crane and turtle are printed on the candy bag as a symbols of long life.
