Japanese people have a big cleaning event by the end of December.
It is called Oosouji.
We clean everywhere.
Japanese office workers also clean their offices.
So, Japanese buy various goods for cleaning to have a super clean New Year's Eve and next year.
There is a slogan of Oosouji event.
"For next lucky year, don't carry this year's stain and dusts over"
I almost finished Oosouji because I usually clean my house well.
In this season, I always use tons of baking soda and CLOROX Disinfecting wipes
for cleaning.
Important places are entrance, kitchen and bathroom.
Wet places.
Bad spirits who want to have water easy to stay there.
This is because house's luck depends on these wet places.
Cleaning has good spiritual effects indeed.
Japanese people know the secret.
The standard point of good Shinto shrine is cleanliness.
Sacred existences(nature gods) love cleanliness and they cherish local nameless person who rakes fallen leaves in a shrine's property.
A well-cared shrine will be an active shrine.
Active shrine = Effective shrine for local area protection
In Shinto, there are two important tables in each household.
Kamidana = Place for local nature gods to protect the area
Butsudan = Healing place for own ancestors
In Japan ,cleaning is very important routine work rather than other countries.
Japanese students clean their class room by themselves. Even a toilet and other public room in the school.
Actually, cleaning brings lucky fortune because evil spirits love dusty dirty room.
Important thing is "self-cleaning" where we use.
If you are not a cleanly person,
you can't continue Kamidana and Butsudan care.
Because cleaning is a really basic care for your sacred tables.
One more thing.
Clean space is for important you.
Human has life-battery, Naizai-Shin, in right side of chest.
(Your original spirit, Tamashii, is in left side.)
The sacred portion was given by local nature gods when you were born.
So,you need to clean your house everyday because you keep the part of god inside of you.
