Japanese famous ritual in summer solstice / Shinto / Common Sun worship

Sun rising and Meoto-iwa, Wedded rocks, in Futami Okitama Jinjya-shrine.
Ise-shima in Mie prefecture is one of the most important place in Japan.
Meoto-iwa is close to Grand shrine of ISE. (Head of Japan's all nature worship)
Japan's core is here.

There is a huge main rock in the sea over the two rocks.
The hidden rock is God of the sea. Okitama-Shinseki (size:216m×108m)
So, the wedded rocks are protection for the God.
At the summer solstice, you can see beautiful rising sun behind the Mount Fuji.
Sometimes, a pair of big sharks show up. Of course they are husband and wife.
There are some similar rocks or place names all over Japan,
but original place is here.
The history is related to ancient regend of mermaid in Japan.
They needed to escape from Ise.

Annual summer solstice ritual in Futami-Okitama Jinjya-shrine.
(June/2011)
People purify their body in the sea water and watch a sunrise while singing Japan's national anthem called Kimigayo.

Generally speaking, religious purification with water is called Misogi in Shinto.
For example, people need to clean their body, at least hands and mouth, before visiting Shinto shrine.
⇒ Misogi / Purification by water / Your original magnetism
Most Japanese are obsessed with cleanliness.

Although Shinto is known as nature worship,
Japanese especially cherish the Sun as Amaterasu-Ohomikami.
The Sun Goddess.
Your old ancestors believed Sun worship too.
Sun worship was world-wide worship in ancient times.
List of solar deities (Wikipedia)
Mitra, Ra, Amun, Aten, Horus... They represents same one Sun god in ancient world.
Interestingly, Japanese style name, Amaterasu-Ohomikami, has all sounds of them.
Important pronunciations of the Sun god name are
AMA, RA, SU, HO.

Along with Sun worship, there was a huge rock worship in Japan.
⇒ Sacred rocks / Energy storage / Iwakura worship

But the oldest, original religious thing was "Mountain worship".
People worshiped Polaris and Sun at the top of a sacred mountain.
⇒ Mount Haku / Super ancient worship before current civilization / Pillars
It was root of all current traditional religions in the world but there is no records.
Only "oral tradition" in Japan.

Japanese have many rituals of solar anniversaries.
Spring/autumnal equinox are called Ohigan or Higan.
People give special ritual for own ancestors.
Season and it's atmosphere changes after each Sun's turning point.
It has unique magnetic atmosphere.
Gratitude feeling for ancestors is easily delivered to own ancestors in an after life world.
Because day time and night time's term are same.
Day = This visible world of the Earth = Body
Night = Another, after life world = Soul

In summer solstice, the sun's power is fully filled in each Shinto shrine
and some of them do "Rice planting ritual" in June.
It is said that Japanese rice is condensed Sun's energy
and Shinto priests give sake rice wine to nature gods.

Most important place for the ritual is Izawa-no-miya shrine's. (Since 1335)
The shrine is close to the wedded rocks.
So many Hebrew people visited around Izawa-no-miya shrine in ancient times.

This year's ritual is called off because of Covid19.
So, maybe, Japanese people can't eat this year's rice much.
Not only rice, but also other products.
Shinto rituals are white magic for Japan's peace.
Before a big earthquake in 2011, an important Sumo ritual was cancelled.

Winter solstice is more important than summer solstice
because it means revival of the Sun.
Long night season is ended by the day.
Ancient people worried about Sun's death because they knew the Sun power create food for them.
Agriculture was the most important thing.

There are many traditional festivals after Winter solstice all over the world.

Ancestor worship in Japan is said that Zen Buddhism culture,
but it is not true at all.
Buddhism is very new thing in Japan.
There was an ancestor worship concept in ancient Shinto.
After that, Buddhism was imported to Japan.
Shinto's original main concept is Nature worship and Ancestor worship.
Shinto can't divide these two worships because nature/gods created human.
And they have been giving everything to human.
Your parent and ancestors did the same thing to you.
They gave everything what they can do. Within their budget and knowledge.
"Let's help bigger things which have been giving everything"
This concept is Shinto.
Of course helping smaller or weak things is obvious. (Everyone knows that)
