Susanoo became a respectable man and he had a grand son of the 6th.
His name was Ookuninushi.
Note
Ookuninushi has many other names with the times and situations.
Ohoanamudi,Yachihoko,Ashiharashikowo,Utsukushinitama and so on.
But in this blog,I'll call him Ookuninushi.
He had so many half-brothers and they were called Yasogami.(Many gods)
Youngest Ookuninushi was always buried by half-brothers.
One day,Yasogami heard a rumor of a beautiful princess "Yagamihime" who is living in Inaba province
and they decided to go to there to propose to her.
Although Ookuninushi was not interested in marriage,
he had to accompany them to carry their heavy luggage.

Yasogami mean not only half-brothers of Ookuninushi but also young men in the village.
At that time,children belonged to a village or society.
At that time,children belonged to a village or society.
And a marriage meant a getting new land and extension of power.
Brothers found a fur-plucked hare around the Keta-cape.
"It really hurts! Wahhhh!"
Brothers said to the hare.
"If you want to heal the wound,have a bathe in the sea water
and let your body dry on the top of a high mountain"
The hare followed the advise but their information was totally lie.
Hare's skin damaged more and more.
Shortly afterword,Ookuninushi found the hare crying on the mountain.
"What is happening?"
"I was living in the small island of Oki over the sea.
I wanted to visit this big island.
So I said to crocodile-sharks that
which are there more of, mine or your family members?"
"Please gather your family and let them line up from OKi to the big island so that I can count number of your family"
"By using the bridge,I was able to come this island and I said to them,
Ha ha! I just wanted to use your backs!"
Brothers found a fur-plucked hare around the Keta-cape.
"It really hurts! Wahhhh!"
Brothers said to the hare.
"If you want to heal the wound,have a bathe in the sea water

You will get better soon"
Hare's wound completely healed.
"Thank you very much for your kindness.
You will be able to get married to princess Yagami"
As the hare said,Ookuninushi was chosen by Yagamihime.
Yasogami brothers were very unhappy about it
so they decided to kill Ookuninushi.
Brothers said,
"Hey Ookuninushi,do you know?
A rare red-boar is living in the mountain.
But your wife has trouble with it because it damages crops.
We are going to chase it and you have to catch it under the cliff.Okay?
Brothers burned a huge rock until it turns red
and rolled it toward Ookuninushi.
He was crashed and died.
His mother was terribly grieved to hear that
and consulted with Kamimusubi,god of the heaven.
Kamimusubi sent two gods of shellfish for dead Ookuninushi.
Shellfish gods removed Ookuninushi from the rock
and applied ointment to him.
Ookuninushi was revived.
In addition,he became better looking and wonderful man.

Shellfish gods are known as the first health care workers.
Their names are Kisagaihime(an ark shell) and Umugaihime(clam).
Shellfish = Mother's milk = Almighty medical efficacy
In Tottori and Shimane prefecture,people eat ark shells as New Year dish.
Japanese New Year dishes are called Osechi and these are lucky foods for us.
Osechi differs from region to region.
New Year is very important for Shinto because it is a sacred milestone.
But more important day is just after Winter solstice.
It means revival of the Sun.
In ancient time,human beings believed nature worship especially the Sun.
Just after winter solstice was a very sacred day all over the world.
Because they knew that "nature gives everything for actual life".
Japanese Shinto is nature worship.
Your ancestors believed the same thing as Shinto.
Only Japan have been keeping true original worship of human beings.
Mean brothers felt annoyed with the revival of Ookuninushi.
They pinched his body with a big wooden trap and Ookuninushi was killed again.
But this time,his mother revived him by herself.
She said to Ookuninushi,
"You will be killed again.Go to see your ancestor Susanoo.
He will save you"
Ookuninushi went to the world of wood-root.(Underground,or deep sea)

It is said that the world leads to Yomi.(World of death,dead people)
Susanoo's daughter Suseri welcomed Ookuninushi
when he arrived at their palace.
Ookuninushi and Suseri fell in love at first sight.
Suseri said to father,
"Wonderful god came.I want to get married with him"
Susanoo decided to give tests him.

Ookuninushi looked for it but it was hard to find.
And furthermore, Susanoo set fire to the field and went home.
"I don't know what to do" Ookuninushi almost gave up.
Suddenly,a rat came and said,
"Uchi wa hora hora Soto wa subu subu"
(Inside of a hole is wide,Hole's entrance is narrow)
Ookuninushi stepped on the ground and fell down into the hole.
He was able to escape from fire.
In addition,the rat's children brought the arrow.
"Thank you very mush"
Susanoo and Suseri thought that Ookuninushi had died.
But he came back home with the arrow.
"You are something.Okay,let's talk"
Susanoo invited him in the house and said
"Remove lice from my hair"
Ookuninushi tried to remove lice but in fact these are centipedes with sharp teeth.
Suseri gave him nuts and red soil.
"Okay,Isee"
He put them in the mouth and spit.
Susanoo felt comfortable and thought that insects were killing by him
and finally fell asleep.
"It's now or never!"
Ookuninushi fastened Susanoo's hair to pillars very tightly
and blocked the room's entrance with a huge rock.
Then,he took a sword,bow&arrow and harp out from Susanoo's private room.
"Suseri,let's go and get married"
He carried her on his back and left the palace in a big hurry.
But unfortunately,sword and bow&arrow touched the harp.
The harp rang.
Susanoo woke up and he found that his hair is tied.
But strong Susanoo chased
Susanoo shouted at them,
"Ookuninushi! Beat your mean brothers with the items!
And be happy with Suseri!
You bastard!"
These were words of congratulatery for them.
