Hiruko also means unstable/floating continent = Mu/The lost continent

Each shrine has about 800 to 900 branch shrines.
And people who use fire in their work visit there to pray for fire-safety and dedicate thanks.
Because they can't work without fire.

Izanami's dead body was put in Mount Hiba.(Between Hiroshima and Shimane prefecture)
The middle mountain over the cloud is Hiba.
It is said that there is her tomb top of the mountain and
there are very old huge rocks all over Hiba.
Rock worship is one of the ancient Shinto's concept.
Also,magnetism is quite strange in this area.

Yomotsu Hirasaka (Yomi no Hirasaka) in Higashi-Izumo town,Shimene prefecture.
It is said that this slope road was a border between this world and the another world(Yomi).
Izumo Taisha shrine in the same prefecture is very important place as

Kukuri-Hime the mystery goddess mede her father and mother peace at the slope road.
She is worshiped at Shirayama Hime Jinjya shrine in Ishikawa prefecture and other Shirayama/Hakusan group shrines all over Japan.
To the truth,She is the later Amaterasu the God of the Sun.
Of course,Amaterasu wasn't yet born at this time.
This meaning is "time is parallel".
and "Time is not irreversible".

When Izanagi washed his body in the pond after visiting Yomi,the death world
three gods about water were created along with other many gods.
The three gods of the sea & water and Empress Jingu are worshiped in the shrine.
Eda Jinjya is located near the Misogi pond.
Of course Izanagi and Izanami are worshiped at this shrine.
After Izanagi created many gods,he went to Kakuri-no-miya in Awaji island(later Izanagi Jingu-shrine).
It was his retirement.
Now,he and his wife Izanami are worshiped in the shrine together.
One of the oldest shrine in Japan and many couples visit this shrine.

By the way,Kojiki equivalent to Old testament
and later Nihon-Shoki is New testament.
