Cooking series No.2 / My soy milk soup pasta / Tofu shirataki macaroni

 
Today,I would like to introduce you to my recipe.
"Soy milk soup with Tofu shirataki macaroni"

In this recipe,I added Chicken sausage.
Tofu is already known well all over the world,but everybody don't know about Shirataki yet.
Shirataki is kind of Konjyaku/Konjyaku/Konjac.
Hard jelly-like food.

Normal konnyaku.There are black and white color types.
Konnyaku is made from yam potato flour but it has almost no calorie.
Gluten free,No cholesterol and good for diet.
It contains much fiber.
Shirataki is noodle-like food in Japan,
but I have never eaten it as noodle in Japan.
Because it is not a Japanese traditional recipe.
Shirataki is eaten as side dish like these.
But now,for more healthy life,I want to eat Konnyaku noodle instead of pasta. 
And I love new Japanese food,Tofu included shirataki.



First of all,please drain off the bag of Tofu-shirataki.
One Tofu-shirataki bag is good for one person.
And we have to pour boiling hot water to remove smell completely.
Don't forget this process because it is effective.


Saute your favorite things.
My recommend foods are sausage,tomato,spinach,squash/zucchini and so on.

In my recipe,I added Miso paste a little.
Or add bouillon cube instead of miso.


Add soy milk or milk.


Soy sauce.
Miso and soy sauce are very good friend of milk products.
Their combination creates aromatic taste.
If you don't have Japanese seasonings,add bouillon cube and salt/pepper for taste.

Add drained Tofu-Shirataki and chopped parsley at the end.
Grated cheese is also good.
Tofu-shirataki macaroni is time-saving food.
You don't have to cook pasta for 8 minutes.

Tofu-shirataki macaroni 1bag/226g $1.69 at Mitsuwa NJ
Toppings (What you like)
Soy milk or milk 1/2 cup
Miso paste 1tsp-1tbsp
Soy sauce 1tsp
salt and pepper
Cheese (for more thick soup)
