Cooking series No.3 / Japanese steamed bread / Mushi-pan


Mushi-pan.
Mushi-pan is a Japanese simple steamed bread.
Basically,Mushi-pan doesn't need oil and egg.

Basic Ingredients for 4 small breads

All purpose flour 100g
Baking powder 1tsp
Sugar 50g
Milk or Soy milk or water 80mL
A pinch of salt
Topping (if you need)

Please mix all ingredients all together.
Don't mix it too much.
Then,put them into a steamer.(about 10min/high heat)

If you don't have steamer,
prepare big deep pan.
Cake cups on the turned over plate.
Please wrap rid of the pan with towel like this.
It prevents water dropping from ceiling.

It is very easy to make and there are so many kinds of flavor.
Today,I added grated carrot.
And put some sweet beans.

If you want to add wet ingredients like grated carrot,
please remove some milk from the recipe.

My another favorite flavor is Ham and Parmesan Cheese.
Please add them instead of sugar.
