This is my current style of Kamidana.
Two vases of plants and one water bowl in the middle means "One forest".
Japanese people change the 3 water every day.
Taking care of Kamidana = Providing a place for nature gods
Nature gods visit a forest to a forest to protect or guard the area.
So,any nature park is very important
because people except Japanese don't know about the nature god's relay system.
Strong stem and thick leaves are important.
I always buy a bunch of plant at Trader's Joe.
An appropriate height for Kamidana is 140cm-160cm.
It is a ideal height for Kamidana in changing water with no hardship.
Some people set up Kamidana higher than their own heights.
But it is dangerous if you use stepladder everyday.

Actually,I have been wanted to buy real Japanese Kamidana box/shelf like this.
But I gave up about it,because my home is rented house.
I can not make holes against wall.
If you have own house,please try it.
If you set up the place for local gods,they are willing to visit your place everyday.
